Two years ago, a good friend of mine was battered by her husband and hospitalized. Up until this point I had not known that this was an ongoing occurence. This time she sustained numerous bruises, three broken ribs and broken teeth. All of this was witnessed by her son. Fearing for her and her children's safety, she fled to a small home without electricity or plumbing. Realizing the lack of a support for a person in her situation, I became determined to do something for those victims of domestic violence. This is why I am reaching out to you for assistance in funding this project to build a place of hope and a new beginning.
This center will provide safety as well as empower women through education, counseling and life training skills.
